Faith communities and dementia
Rodie Garland from Faith Action, the author of Building Dementia-friendly faith communities, writes how faith institutions can play a key role in improving awareness around dementia and supporting those that suffer from dementia.
With Dementia being an area of priority for the Department of Health and Social Care and Public Health England, Rodie investigates how faith communities and institutions can play a role.
one thing that faith communities offer that is unique is that they tend to stick with someone and don’t just give up and walk away from them when things get harder or when they stop getting something back out of it. Faith communities would see a duty of care for that person and show them love and compassionate right up to the end of life.
